Communications and Signal Processing Research Lab

1.Dr. VenuVeeravalli, Professor, ECE Department and Coordinated Science Lab Director, Illinois Center for Wireless Systems (ICW University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Dr. Venu was invited through the Distinguished Lecturer IEEE Program in cooperation with EGYPT- IEEE Section, IEEE Signal Processing Chapter.

IEEE Signal Processing Chapter resides in CSPRL. During the visit in 22/12/2010, Dr. Venu gave an invited lecture entitled "Tracking with Sleepy Sensors".

After the visit Dr. Venu was chosen as a member of Juries Committee for the PhD. Thesis entitled"Development of Routing Protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks".

2. Dr. AbbassOmar, Head of Microwaves and Communications Department, University of Magdburg, Germany.

He visits CSPRL each time he is in Egypt. He gave some invited lectures, Shared in Supervision of   MSc. Thesis, nominated as a member of Juries Committee for PhD Thesis.

He Also Help in Postgraduate students training in the labs of  Microwaves and Communications Department, where they gain practical experience.

3.  Dr. Mohamed Elsharkawy received a fulbright research grant for conducting research at Egypt for nine months starting December 15, 2008.

He choosed CSPRL for conducting his  research in the area of video compression. Dr. Elsharkawy together with Dr Salwa Elramly and Eng. Mohamed Ebian ( a PhD. Student) composed a research group in Video coding.
