The laboratory was established in 1998 and is devoted to research and higher studies in topics: Communications Systems, Networks, and Signal Processing. The major topics treated and led to completion of MSc. and PHD theses can be classified as follows: 1. Communication Systems (Theory, Modulation techniques, Performance Evaluation, Channel coders, LDPC,VoIP) 2. Speech Communication (coders, synthesizers, recognizers) 3. Networks (ADSL, Satellite networks, wireless networks, network routers, ATM switches) 4. Mobile Communications (GSM, CDMA, WI-FI, WIMAX, DVB-H, 3G) 5. Smart Antennas. 6. Ciphering. 7. Signal Processing (Adaptive algorithms, wavelet transforms, Fractals, image processing, OCR and equalizers). 8. Radars (GPR, pulse radars). 9. MIMO Systems. 10. OFDM and Multi carrier Systems. 11. DVB-T2 System. 12. Software Defined Radio. 13. Cognitive Radio Networks. 14. Ad-hoc and Wireless Sensor Networks
